Thirty-Four East, a novel by Alfred Coppel, 1974 HBDJ First Edition

SYNOPSIS:  434  pages. "The most disputed, politically charged, and militarily dangerous area in the world is a barren, rocky, dusty stretch of desert called the Sinai Peninsula. It is split by the meridian of longitude designated thirty-four east. To the west of the Sinai lies a vengeful Arab state, Egypt; to the east, a small, embattled nation, Israel, literally surrounded by enemies. The desolate sandy plain, punctuated by the Biblically symbolic Mount Sinai, is the main center of action for a novel of such narrative force, daring innovation, and intriguing plot that its readers will be held spellbound to its last compelling, moving moment."
