SYNOPSIS: 475 pages. The most famous "survivalist" story of all which has been a classic for well over 100 years. A shipwrecked Robinson Crusoe tells his story of surviving being stranded on a desert island, his adventures, his triumphs, and the faithful friend he finds there.

Publisher:
John B. Alden Publishing, 1892. This is "The Arlington Edition" and contains a biographical account of Defoe. Illustrated by Thwaites and others.

Format:
Hardback, brown boards with dark brown corners and spine. 475 pages. A very early edition, only date shown is publisher's date of 1892, but was purchased with a library of several other volumes clearly dating to the 1890's.

Condition: Definitely "acceptable as a reading copy," and quite possibly could be graded as "good". Although this is a very early edition, the condition of the cover makes it less than "collectible." The spine cover is missing, and the binding split at front title page and opposite frontispiece. Inner pages very age-yellowed as well as foxing. Well worn volume, yet all text 100% legible, no missing pages, tears, or markings noted anywhere. All signs of age on outside. Compact, yet heavy, little volume.

See
Grading Scale page for explanation of grades. Photos of any obvious condition issues will be provided.
