SYNOPSIS:  183 pages. From inside front cover: "A Cherokee Indian boy in Tennessee was called 'younger brother' by his playmate because he lacked the skill, strength and courage to take on the duties of a brave. Finally, Sungri performed a great service to the tribe and was entitled to wear the eagle feather for bravery."

Publisher: E. M. Hale and Company, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Only date shown is 1942 copyright by E. P. Dutton and Company, stated as a "Special Edition" published by Hale.

Format: Hardback. No dust jacket, BUT comes with library's handmade book cover and mylar overwrap. EX LIB.

Condition: Ex Lib with associated markings, stampings, redactions, card jacket, removed pages with card jacket, etc. In Acceptable condition. Homemade (by library) book cover removed for photograph, but will be sent with the book, and is pictured. The orange boards were reinforced by the library with bookbinder's tape as pictured. Boards moderately soiled, bumped and rubbed, and upper front cover slightly cocked. Inner pages and page edges yellowed with age, moderate soiling and edge chipping or very small tears. No text obliterated or missing. May have an occasional light scribble mark, but no text obliterated. EXTREMELY scarce volume in this version. Tightly bound.
