Facing the World, by Horatio Alger, Jr 1920s-30s HB ORIGINAL CARTOON ARTWORK Facing the World, by Horatio Alger, Jr 1920s-30s HB ORIGINAL CARTOON ARTWORK

SYNOPSIS:  Unnumbered pages.

Publisher: The Goldsmith Publishing Co., Cleveland, Ohio. Back inside cover also states "Press of The Commercial Bookbinding Co., Cleveland."

Format: Hardback. No dust jacket. NOT an EX LIB.

Condition: POOR. Belonged to a school student in 1932. Covers blue cloth, foil lettering completely faded from front cover & spine, as well as frayed portion on spine. Heavily soiled throughout, owner's name stamped in rubber stamp on inside front cover. Pages very age yellowed. The good news is the pages are flat, and clear of markings or tears, and the volume is tightly bound. The student who owned the book later became a bridge engineer for the State of Missouri, and he was apparently a talented cartoonist as a delightful two-page spread of his original cartoon artwork was discovered on the inside back cover (pictured below), which pretty much is the redeeming feature of this well-worn volume.
Photos illustrate condition of overall volume.

See Grading Scale page for explanation of grades. Photos of any obvious condition issues will be provided.
