SYNOPSIS:  485 pages. By the noted Virginia author, the daughter of a Confederate general, about the Old South.

Format: Hardback. No dust jacket. NOT an EX LIB.

Condition: Very Good+ Condition. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering and design on the front and on the spine, blind stamped design on the front and on the spine. Upper gilt page edges are faded,untrimmed fore and bottom page edges. Minor soiling to covers, fading to spine cover, age-yellowing to pages, foxing and tanning to blank end papers, very minor soiling to inner pages (occasionally), and very old signs of previous book bore holes on upper front page edges which do not get close to text. This is not uncommon in older books published before certain printing processes were in place that served as a repellent.  Owner's name and date ("April - 1908") written on inside front flyleaf. Otherwise, no further markings, tears, or other flaws are noticed. Tightly bound. Quite a beautiful volume, and somewhat scarce in First Edition. Photos illustrate condition of overall volume.
