SOLDWebsite - John Goffe's Legacy by George Woodbury, Illustrated by Arthur Conrad, First Edition

SYNOPSIS:  272 pages. From Foreword: "It is the purpose of John Goffe's Legacy to show the human history, or evolution, if that is what it is, of a similarly nondescript but average New England scene, and in one setting to draw the changes that two hundred years of time and eight couples have wrought...This is a diorama of people and the times they lived in against a single geographical setting. It is a human record in which, in the nature of such things, the history of the nation is writ small and the progress of our civilization smaller still. Yet the elements may be more vivid by being reduced in size, and brought to sharper focus by being limited in scope."

Publisher: W. W. Norton & Company, Inc. Stated First Edition. 1955.
