Publisher: Alfred A. Knopf: New York. 1948. Possible First Edition: Stated "First and Second Printings Before Publication."

Format: Hardback with dust jacket and mylar overwrap.

Condition:
Both jacket and volume in Acceptable condition. Unknown if the presence of the mylar overwrap is indication of it being an ex lib as no other indications of ex lib status. Possibly original owner used to protect volume. Unclipped flap shows $3.00 retail price. Chipping to jacket edges (at black mylar tape), very age-yellowed pages, soiling to page edges and on some pages (foxing?), a couple of pencil marks and  some creasing to endpapers, binding split at front cover, but still solidly bound. No tears, and all text legible. A somewhat collectible edition.
