SYNOPSIS:  93 pages. Born in Russia, Leen emigrated to the United States in 1939. Her first photographs were published in Life magazine in 1940 and she continued to contribute to the magazine as a contract photographer until the magazine folded in 1972. Over the years, Leen was behind over 50 magazine covers and contributed countless reports from around the world, including the story of her dog Lucky which began in 1949 and later led to the publication of this book- the true story of a four-week old mongrel puppy, found on the plains in Texas with its dead mother, her rescue & new life. The first stories about Lucky appeared in Life and became perhaps no dog in recent years became so endeared to the American public.

Tightly bound, clean pages with no tears. moderate wear to boards. Some of the most adorable photos of this truly "lucky" little dog you will ever see! This is a scarce edition.
